Hand body garden-Jessica, Christine, Neeley, Heidi
Flower body garden-Anna, Nicole, Emily, Nancy
Tree Garden-Whitney, Hannah, Kara, and Diana
New Zealand body garden-Katie, Rebecca, Allie, and Janet
This was one of our fun projects in maths class that we did on Tuesday-all about making geometric shapes out of our bodies. What's cool is we have a model for when we have our practicum students do a similar activity, it will be so fun. Helen Walters is amazing because she helped us see that maths is fun and not just about worksheets. Assessment can be through centers, small instructional groups, and other activities, like Tapa cloths. Guided Math is what it is called, and I love how the teacher can help small groups according to instructional level and the other students practice and keep sharp on their maths skills. Similar to literacy, my maths program can be so much more efficient.
Model pictures posted above are more about just having fun and making art and different shapes. Not really math oriented, but so much fun!

It does look like a lot of fun. I think Sister Salisbury would be proud of you!
